National Diagnostic Imaging Symposium Accreditation – World Class CME is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. World Class CME designates this live activity for a maximum of 35 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

American Board of Radiology Maintenance of Certification – 35 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™- AMA credits can be used towards ABR MOC Lifelong Learning requirements.

OBJECTIVES

• Increase your diagnostic capabilities in multiple radiology subspecialties including Body Imaging, Breast Imaging, Cardiothoracic Imaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Oncologic Imaging, Neuroradiology, Ultrasound, Oncologic Imaging, and Emergency Radiology

• Update your knowledge of CT and MR scan protocols including the newest techniques such as Photon CT Scanning and Fast MR Scanning protocols

• Learn how to optimize scan protocols and understand about potential pitfalls in classic clinical applications including hematuria, GI bleeding and the incidental adrenal mass

• Effectively use MDCT and MR imaging to evaluate the GI tract including the liver, pancreas, spleen and bowel. Understand the latest criteria for managing processes like the incidental pancreatic cysts.

• Understand how to interpret high-resolution CT (HRCT) scans for a range of interstitial lung diseases as well as how to use HRCT in patient management

• Understand how to utilize non-invasive imaging options such as CT, MR and ultrasound for the evaluation of cardiovascular disease ranging from the coronary arteries to the aorta and to the carotid arteries and pulmonary arteries.

• Understand the role of CT and MRI for a range of neurologic pathologies ranging from stroke to tumor imaging

• Plan the appropriate imaging of emergency department adult and pediatric patients and understand how to optimize study interpretation and patient triage.

• Utilize CT and MRI to assess injury to the brain, bony skeleton and internal organs and organ systems in the trauma patient.

• Understand the role of ultrasound in current imaging paradigms and understand how to optimize protocols and scan interpretation in a range of topics from the acute abdomen, organ transplant imaging to screening and diagnostic breast ultrasound

• Better understanding of the role of PET/CT in current oncologic applications and its role to supplement CT and MRI Imaging in clinical practice

• Understand the status of AI in radiology today - including its role in current clinical practice, as well as its potential impact in your practice over the next few years

Intended Audience

The National Diagnostic Imaging Symposium is designed to meet the educational needs of radiologists whether in general or specialized care and radiology residents and fellows who desire to learn, in depth, how to use imaging in a clinical practice setting for screening, diagnosis and staging of injury and disease. Surgeons, emergency physicians, physicists, sonographers and advanced practitioners may also be interested in learning current techniques and applications in radiology offered at this course.
